He worked with Douglas Stephen, Richard Rogers and Norman Foster before creating his own studio. Since then he has designed projects in Europe, Japan and the United States, with special dedication to the cultural realm, particularly museums.
He received the RIBA Award for the River & Rowing Museum in the United Kingdom and for the Kaiserstrasse offices in Dusseldorf. Other projects worth highlighting are the Toyota Headquarters in Japan, the house in Corrubedo (Galicia) and many of the Dolce & Gabbana fashion chain shops all over the world.
His concept focus is based on creating high quality designs that stem from an intense and continuous dialogue with clients, experts and final consumers.
"The interesting part about designing a house is not the design in itself but the actual space within which the rituals of our daily lives are enhanced. The essential element of designing a house is its role in simplifying our day to day activities."
